April 2026 Dog of the Month

_{Meet Reverend—“Rev”—our Pheasants Forever Dog of the Month!}

_{Rev is a well-trained 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who came to us from Hi-Point Kennels in Alliance, Ohio. True to his breed, he’s the perfect mix of energy, intelligence, and heart. Whether he’s charging through the field or greeting you at the door, Rev brings a boisterous spirit and affectionate personality to everything he does.}

_{Rev has already built an impressive hunting résumé, pursuing wild game birds across Pennsylvania, New York, and throughout New England. This fall, he’ll be adding North Dakota to his map as we gear up for another exciting adventure. He has also proudly participated in several organized youth and veterans hunts, showcasing not only his skill but his steady temperament and love for working alongside people.}

_{When the hunt is over, Rev knows how to unwind. You’ll usually find him stretched out on the couch or relaxing by the fireplace—proof that even the most driven dogs appreciate the quiet moments.}

March 2026 Dog of the Month

^{Hunter, a 6 1/2 year old, 52lb male born to Garner's AKC Mountain Trek Brandy and Moss' AKC Maverick, eagerly demonstrates the strong field champion qualities of his lineage. He actively participates in the chapter's annual youth hunts, veteran hunts, and weekly pheasant hunts, all with his owner and handler Dave in tow. His capabilities including flushing birds from cover and retrieving harvested game to hand.}

^{During the offseason, Hunter stays active by swimming in the pond (especially when people are fishing), as well as chasing frogs, catching frisbees, and enjoying long naps on his favorite day bed.}

February 2026 Dog of the Month

^{This month we feature Luna. She is a 6 1/2 year old Springer who hunts 30+ days a year. Luna has endless energy and enthusiasm in the field and is obsessed with chasing a ball in the off season. Her owner and handler is Chapter Member Matt Putman.}

January 2026 Dog of the Month

This month we feature Dixie, a 5-year-old English Springer Spaniel, Chapter member Steve Dunsmore is her owner.

Dixie has enjoyed flushing birds for the chapter's annual youth hunts in the last four years, she has also volunteered her nose and flushing skills for the Hartstown, PA Veterans Pheasant Hunt and is always willing to hunt (especially for someone who is new to upland hunting).

Dixie also enjoys Hunting Grouse and Woodcock, in Pa and Mi.

Outside of the bird hunting seasons, Dixie enjoys retrieving bumpers, swimming in Lake Erie, running in the woods and couch naps

December 2025 Dog of the Month

Chapter Member Steve Capela is the owner of Mia, a 10 year old Lab/GSP and Bailey, a 3 year old Brittany, who recently volunteered for the chapter's first ever Veterans Day Hunt on 11/11/25.

Mia and Bailey also volunteer their noses and bird locating skills for the chapter's youth hunts. Steve also donates his time for other events throughout the year, with our Pheasants Forever chapter.

November 2025 Dog of the Month

This month we are featuring Dasher, 10 year old Brittany who enjoys chasing Roosters.

Dasher's owners are Dennis Ford and Karen Ford, who are proud members of NWPA Pheasants Forever Chapter #728
